For Chicagoans, however, there are few larger-than-life sports figures than Payton. But, it is not only Chicagoans that adore the larger-than-life athlete, it is all sports fans.
Walter Payton’s legend has been carried on by his foundation.The foundation takes an active role in helping those less fortunate and provide positive opportunities. So it is an honor to be part of the legacy of Walter Payton. This blue pullover jacket is from the middle portion of Payton’s career. Collar tagging shows it is a Russell Athletic XL late 70s-early 80s. Payton’s jersey number is prominently featured on the left sleeve and the orange Bear logo is present on the front chest. The jacket exhibits awesome wear with overall crinkling and a stale sweat odor. Also included for provenance is a photo of Eddie Payton holding the jacket.
